About the artist
Hi, I'm Mike Floyd. I started drawing on baseballs back in 2003 when I was living in Central New York. My love of baseball and steady hand got together and created the first Baseball by Mike Floyd. Originally, I would paint them for friends and then bring them to Cooperstown, NY for HOF Induction week and have the players autograph them. All of the players loved seeing themselves on a baseball and were always impressed with them. I remember meeting Reggie Jackson, harmon Killebrew, Willie Mays, Yogi Berra, Brooks Robinson, Bob Feller, Ryne Sandberg, Wade Boggs, Lou Brock, Tony Gwynn, Rich Gossage and Bruce Sutter. Several players asked me for one of their own. It was incredible having these legendary players complimenting my artwork as the “best they’d ever seen”. When I met Reggie “Mr. October” Jackson, he was so impressed with his baseball, he thought I should also be in the Hall of Fame!
Fast forward to today and my art baseballs are still prized by baseball collectors and fans and players everywhere. There’s not another art baseball out there that covers the ball in player stats and career achievements, together with team logos and graphics the way that a Baseball by Mike Floyd does. Each and every baseball I create is a one-of-a-kind work-of-art, designed and created by me in my Connecticut studio.
If there's a player you'd like and don’t see here or have a signed ball that you’d like me to paint, let me know. I accept custom orders. -mike
